Market Strategies

The Business of Technology©

Devin Design supports senior management by identifying opportunities, performing market assessments, assisting in strategic planning, competitive analysis, and process implementation. With the right tools and information in hand we also provide global resources for commercial development, manufacturing, and trade partnering. We believe in aggressively pursuing product definition and development. We are experienced in the professional audio industry, the studio electronics industry, systems contracting and consumer electronics. We have a history of successful product development that stems from identifying consumer needs and wants and then assembling the appropriate resources for executing on those opportunities.

We are experts in professional quality audio systems and the underlying digital technologies that make them possible. This ranges from custom designed ASIC’s, embedded processing, custom assembly language development, networking and other tools in sophisticated recording, distribution, synthesizer and playback systems.

Familiar with emerging consumer technologies, we actively adapt them to unique, differentiated purposes. As an example, we are utilizing a professional audio interface protocol to design a digital residential audio network for one client. This cost effective, flexible and intelligent network sends up to four stereo sources simultaneously to any combination of virtual destinations.

We are also working with clients involved in the Internet music-on-demand market. This includes an end-to-end solution that allows any user to download content and controls the DRM issues, even with multiple copies residing in different devices. This gives clients the ability to download and manage content sent to set-top, receiver, jukebox and even wireless to a car audio device. All the while maintaining security for digital rights management.

We have been involved in the MaGIC protocol for real-time digital audio distribution. Pioneered by Gibson Labs, MaGIC will be presented to the IEEE as the Synch-E protocol under the DENI banner. Manufacturers could benefit from early involvement in this effort, maintaining parity with competitors that are in the process of adopting this protocol. We believe it would beneficial to any client to discuss the technologies and features that we have successfully deployed, and can make available to you. The result: you establish excellent competitive advantage in several market segments.
